No way I'd refinish the sides. Although the top looks solid (to me), the sides and back are laminated. I'm just happy I got it all set up and it plays well and sounds good. I'll at least get things filled in enough so they feel smooth, but I doubt there's any chance I can get it looking perfect. I will work on that seam until I think I'm just beating a dead horse, but if it feels smooth and looks not so great, I'm gonna see if I can give it away.

Posting a coupla pix of how it looks after a few rounds of gluboost and scraping/sanding and wipe-on-poly..

It's levelled, and feels smooth, even polished up pretty well, but the divots still show if you look closely.

It plays nicely and sounds pretty darn good. I think I'm done with this. Roy

A little gluboost update....It took a few different applications, some scraper time, sanding thru the grits and polish, but it feels fine now. You can still see the worst divots, but at least they are levelled with the sides. Never try to remove binding without a good scoring first. This means you, Roy! The ff pix is the worst visually, but it is filled and smooth. Just looks amatuerish, which fits the demonstrated skill.
